Are You Doing Your Part?

This Week's Simple Tip: It is amazing to watch how life flows in full circles. A few weeks ago we had never heard of the term "social distancing," but in reality we had nearly gotten to the point of living it as we looked at our phones more than at one another. Now, forced to stay close to home, we are all craving human connection!! It makes perfect sense as humans were not designed to thrive in isolation. People need people. In fact according to social work researcher and author Brené Brown, “Connection is why we’re here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives." She says that people's main concern about connection is the fear of disconnection.

The coronavirus has demonstrated how interconnected we truly are. One can easily see the ripple effect this virus has had on nearly every industry. We likely all personally know small business people and/or "behind the scenes" employees who have been hugely impacted. Yes, we definitely are all in this together. Now, we all have to do our part to get through this! It may be simply following the rules and staying home, facilitating the learning of our children, calling to check in on each other, or just sharing brightness with others. Maybe, just maybe, the world might be getting a whole new start as a result of coronavirus. Wouldn't that be a wonderful silver lining ?

This Week's Focus:

This week, let's keep in mind that while fear is contagious, so is kindness, hope and compassion. Do your part to spread a little love during these uncharted times of so many unknowns.
