Is There A Haunted House In Your Head?

This Week's Simple Tip

Why do we drive ourselves crazy thinking about future "what ifs??" We seem to be really good at creating a haunted house of scenarios and characters. This kind of worrying is neither healthy nor enjoyable. Fortunately, we can sometimes eliminate many of the frets with a simple conversation. Just recently, I was driving with a friend to an event. She couldn't even be excited about going as she was worrying about two other events in her future. We had a few minutes to kill so I suggested that she just make a call to ask a few questions and clarify the facts about one of the future events. You know what happened? She was able to breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the rest of the day once she found out that her assumptions that were causing her angst were incorrect.

This Week's Focus

This week monitor your thoughts. When you find yourself worrying about something in the future, think about whether you could rid yourself of unnecessary stress by just asking a few clarifying questions.
