What Is The Most Important Thing In YOUR Life?

This Week's Simple Tip: I have always enjoyed Julia Louis-Dreyfuss who played Elaine on "Seinfeld," and more recently Selina Meyer on "Veep." She is always so full of life, even through her battle with breast cancer a couple years ago. Once she was cancer-free, an interviewer asked her if "it had added to appreciating things?" Her response was: "Well, it certainly added to appreciating life. Life doesn't go on forever, and so that sort of came right up to my face as a reminder. And so, yeah, I think I have kind of a pretty solid sense of priority moving forward now."

It's interesting how all crises, just like this unfolding pandemic, will ultimately awaken your spirit and rearrange your priorities. Yes, there are those who are hoarding supplies. But there are many others who have found compassion; they've recognized that we are all equally in this together, and that we need to help each other! It is during challenging times like this that I am reminded of Norman Vincent Peale, a major proponent of positive thinking, who once said, “Whenever God wants to give us a gift, he wraps it up in a problem.” Perhaps a rearrangement of priorities is that gift!!

This Week's Focus:

This week, assume that something good is hidden within each difficulty or challenge. If you focus on looking for the gift instead of dwelling on the problem, you will always find it.
