Are You Focused On The Road?

A friend whose husband passed away awhile ago recently told me that she was finally in a good place. She attributed it to finally accepting that she would never have her old life back, and did not even want many aspects of it back without her deceased husband.

Instead of looking backwards, she started to look forward on where she wanted to go.

There is a quote that states ...

“There is a reason why your windshield is bigger than your rear view mirror. Where you are going is more important than where you came from." Every car has a windshield and a rearview mirror with the windshield approximately 80% bigger than the rearview mirror. So it would make sense that we should look forward through the windshield at the road ahead for the majority of the journey, and glimpse at the rearview mirror now and again. Such is the same in life for all of us. We may want to look back now and then at memories, but spend more time focusing on what is possible, looking forward into the unknown.

This Week's Focus:

This week, think about how much time you spend looking back versus looking forward, and make sure you set yourself up to stay on the road by looking ahead most of the time.

Click on the serenity sticky to print, cut and post on your bathroom mirror to remind you of this week's focus. Good luck!
