Are You Living Life?
Over the holidays, I had a virtual tea time with a friend's mother who was celebrating her 93rd birthday! She excitedly shared a recap of all the things she had been doing with her family, including one of her favorites, a Boston Pops holiday concert.
When she finally took a breath, I asked her if her daughters were allowing her any time for a nap to refuel. She responded with "why would I waste time sleeping during the day ... I would be missing out on so much!"

Life is a beautiful gift from God to cherish and value every minute we get. That is how my friend's mother lives, as did Betty White, who we all loved and admired. Their motto is/was the same as that of Florence Nightingale: Live life when you have it. Sure there will be challenges along the way but it is our choice to become a victim of a problem or victor of a situation in life. Dr. Seuss summarized it well: Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason.
