How To Be Gracious When Things Go Awry

This Week's Simple Tip

I am the type of person who makes TO DO lists. I LOVE to cross off the items as I complete them, even to the point that if I do something that is not on the list, I'll add it just for the satisfaction of crossing it off!  :) But I've learned an interesting lesson in life: at times there are things that take priority that will never be on a TO DO list!  I recently experienced another one of those times.  Having completed a course to learn the process behind getting published in magazines and blogs, I was pumped to put my new knowledge to work. I started working my TO DO list to get a good jump start before our new grand-daughter was to arrive in late August.  Not far into the month, I found myself shifting gears as Saylor Brette arrived early!  I happily evolved to Nana, taking care of 15-month-old big brother, Colton, and grand-dog, Maddie during the inducement and transition time. Loving, care-giving and making sure everyone was fed were not on any TO DO list;  they just automatically happened.  Saylor is now 5 weeks old, and the TO DO list I put on the back burner before her arrival is still not done.  It made me think about why sometimes I feel the need for a TO DO list, and why other things are so automatic. This quote put it all in perspective for me ...

Time really cannot be quantified. Unlike money where all dollars are equal, days and even hours are all different.

Each moment, with or without a TO DO list, is part of our ever-evolving becoming of ourselves.  Blooming or not, each and every moment adds to our unique being which is priceless!

This Week's Focus:

This week, instead of worrying about how much you are getting done, think about how what you are doing each moment that is contributing to sculpting the real YOU. Be in AWE!
