Is Life Happening TO You Or FOR You?

This Week's Simple Tip

Happy New Year!! I hope you were able to enjoy the holiday season, and are ready to begin a new calendar year. I encourage you to think about something as 2021 begins: How you choose to spend your time will determine if your life will be fulfilling, satisfying and happy. What will you choose this year? It's easy to lose focus on the important things in your life, and instead fill your precious time with things that don't mean a thing. Prioritizing your time is critical to having a "full" life. If you start with all the small and trivial things... you'll have no time for the things that really matter. BUT, if you give time to the things that are important first - not only do you have time for them, but you'll find you have time for a whole lot more. Here is something worth making time for right now: Take 3 minutes to watch this video analogy which light-heartedly depicts this philosophy.

Make this the year different and proactively prioritize the things that are important to your happiness! Take time for medical exams and overall wellness. Spend more time with your significant other. Play games or have fun in whichever way best suits your family and friends.

Remember, if you spend all you time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Fill your jar by taking care of the "golf balls and pebbles" first because everything else is just sand.

This Week's Focus:

This week, take a few minutes and make a list of your priorities. Challenge yourself to spend your time and energy on those things rather than everything else that comes up this year! You'll be surprised at how much more fulfilled you feel!
