It's Okay To Not Be Okay. Really.
This Week's Simple Tip
We all have our ups and downs; highs and lows are a part of life. But there are days we just need a break. So why do we feel guilty when we give in and just take a breather? Why do we feel the need to always be strong?

I went through this just last week. It was one of those melancholy times. My mother and a dear friend were on my heart, as both of them had passed away in February years ago. Instead of just giving in with time for myself, I busied myself with some tedious things that required little focus. When the customer service representative ended a call I had made with “have a great day,” it hit me:
It's Okay To Not Be Okay Sometimes!!
I decided to give in and let myself just "have a day" rather than to continue to try to muddle through what was far from "a great day." I put on some quiet music, looked at some old pictures and daydreamed. Amazingly, the next day I felt much better. Feelings are temporary. We honestly all know what it’s like to “not be okay” even if most of us don’t talk about it. Those feelings are normal. We all go through it at times, and hopefully it doesn't last forever. The next time you need it, don't hesitate to just give in. To "have a day" is healing.
This Week's Focus:
This week or next time you are feeling "off," remember that you don’t always have to feel great or even good. Sometimes it’s OK to just be, and to just “have a day.” Give in because the more you resist feeling “bad”, the worse you’ll feel.
