Love Or No Love?

Coping with the loss of someone or something you love is one of life's greatest sufferings. Whether it is a loved one or a cherished pet, it hurts so badly.

It never ends, but it changes. The older we become and have had our hearts broken many times, the more we recognize that grief changes shape over time.

The reality is that we grieve forever. We do not 'get over' the loss of a loved one or pet; we learn to live with it. We heal and rebuild around the loss we have suffered. We will be whole again, but we will never be the same.

"Grief is the price we pay for love."

There is no end to our love for a loved one or pet, therefore there is no end to our grief. We will grieve forever because we love forever.

But you know what? Given a choice between grief and nothing, I'd choose grief hands-down for the love.

This Week's Focus:

This week, reach out to someone you know is grieving. Let them know that you care and understand, and are always there for them in their healing. Check in on them over time.

Click on the serenity sticky to print, cut and post on your bathroom mirror to remind you of this week's focus. Good luck!
