Need A Quick Calming Trick?

The holiday season is here, and with it comes additional demands and stress. Stress is a normal part of modern life, so I want to share a simple trick for calming yourself whether during the holidays or in any other stressful situation.

Just stop for a minute and sit down with your back straight. Take a deep breath. Breathing deeply and slowly triggers the body to stop releasing stress hormones and start to relax. Here is how to do it ...

Slowly while counting to four, breathe in deeply through your nose. Breathe all the way into your belly and not just your chest. Hold it for the count of four, and then slowly breathe out through your mouth, again while counting to four. When you take a few minutes to just breathe deeply, you find yourself feeling calmer quickly. Enjoy!

This week, make time to breathe deeply! We regularly do very shallow breathing that enables us to keep going. But when you stop and take a deep breath, you feel relaxed and refueled.
