What Gift Do You Want?

We are entering that crazy time of year where we allow ourselves to be socially conditioned to spend money on stuff people don’t need.

We look for that one gift that can bring the ultimate amount of joy and keep providing great times for our loved ones. Ironically we all have access to provide that each and every year, because that gift is ourselves.

The greatest gift you can ever give people is yourself, your time and your love as these are the most precious resources we possess and can share with others. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life.

We were recently joking around before yoga class that it sure would be nice if we could go buy some extra time. Someone laughed and said that last time she checked, they were all out of it at Walmart. Shortly there after I came across this: If you take your time, you'll have more of it.

Think about it. If we find ourselves in the position where there isn’t enough time for the people we care about and the things we want to do, then maybe we need to reflect on where and with whom we are spending our time.

This time of year should be focused on spending quality time with those that matter the most to you and building new experiences that can last a lifetime. The best present you can give to anyone this year is just being present for them, showing up when they need you, being there to chat, eating together and laughing at goofy things.

This Week's Focus:

This week, as you work on your gift list, chunk out blocks of time to spend with people you care about instead of scurrying to find a more perfect gift.

Click on the serenity sticky to print, cut and post on your bathroom mirror to remind you of this week's focus. Good luck!
