What's Your Craic?

We recently enjoyed a trip to picturesque Northern Ireland. Everyone, including us, who visits Ireland seems to love it because of the people there!

They are friendly, fun, kind and say exactly what is on their minds! Imagine, no hidden agenda and no political correctness. Why is that okay there and not here in the U.S.?

The huge difference is because the Irish speak what they feel in a very down-to-earth manner, encouraging conversation rather than debate.

There is even a term "Craic" (/kræk/ KRAK) or "crack," for news, gossip, fun, entertainment, and enjoyable conversation. particularly prominent in Ireland. The term is often used in the expression "What's the craic?," meaning "How are you?" or "What's happening?".

Maybe it is time to switch the focus to HOW we say things, versus WHAT we say!?!? Instead of hiding feelings, let's talk about them in a down-to-earth versus confrontational manner.

This Week's Focus:

This week, take the lead and start a conversation with someone about a topic of interest to you. Be sure your tone is down-to-earth and non-confrontational. This could lead to some very enlightening conversations!

Click on the serenity sticky to print, cut and post on your bathroom mirror to remind you of this week's focus. Good luck!
