Which Way Do You Choose To Focus?

This Week's Simple Tip

Well, the election is over! Some people are happier than others. The good news is that we don't have to listen to the mud-slinging between the opponents anymore! Why do humans lower themselves to that standard? Is anyone really persuaded by someone telling you how bad everyone else is, regardless of whether they are selling themselves or a product?  Unfortunately we are bombarded with news, images and videos about all the horrible things people are doing, while in reality, there are people everywhere who reach out to others in need and spread love, not hate.

Have you heard the expression “What You Focus On Expands?” If you notice yourself feeling anxious, angry or judgmental towards others, remind yourself that by choosing to focus on negative thoughts and feelings, you attract more negativity into your life. Conversely, by focusing on positive things, you attract more positivity.

We get to choose what to focus on. Sure there will be times we have negative emotions or thoughts, and we don't always want to suppress those.  But when we are aware of what we’re focusing on, we can consciously turn our attention to positive things rather than letting negativity spiral us downward.

If you think there’s nothing positive going on around you, think of a few of the many things you are truly grateful for. Gratitude has a way of lifting our spirits and making us feel better.

I truly believe that our world would be a better place if we started promoting what we love rather than bashing what we hate. What do you love?

This Week's Focus:

This week may be more emotional than "normal." Be mindful of your feelings. Remind yourself to attempt to focus on the positive versus the negative, and spread the resulting love!
